Hi, I’m Jonanda

In 2020, I won a full-ride scholarship to pursue a degree at one of the world’s top 40 universities (and a top 5 in Canada). Since then, I’ve been coaching students on how to make university and scholarship applications, with most of the students I have helped achieving full scholarships to study abroad and the remainder receiving partial ones.

I founded Think Forward, a program designed to train students from a young age on how they can prepare in advance to be competitive for scholarships because I know from personal experience how difficult it is for many African students to fund their education abroad. Over four years of coaching students and through my own experiences, I have witnessed that schools are not preparing students to be competitive enough to achieve the success they need in gaining financial aid for their education. Through Think Forward, I hope to help students all across Africa create the future they want to live in.

Before our sessions I felt unsure of what the university wanted to see from an applicant considering there was no specific guide on how to approach the essay prompts. Now I am one of the few selected recipients of the President’s International Scholarship of Excellence at York University.
